Valentine's Day

I love the Japanese steakhouse! For Valentine's this year Yvonne and I decided to go to Kyoto, the steakhouse near us. Chris was out with his friends so we decided to bring Kaiden with us. I had told Kai we were going about a week before Valentine's. He was so excited he kept asking if we were going to the Japanese steakhouse at least once a day. I was surprised he remembered  it since we hadn't been for a couple years.
I wasn't too sure how the night would go because Kaiden really struggled about 1.5 hours before our reservation. I had sent a Hot Wheels car down his wall track without him and he did not appreciate it so he took a piece off. He had a very difficult time recovering from that, I don't think he really did until we got to Kyoto. Sometimes it is so hard to get him to admit he is sorry or to understand he has to share his toys. He has an older brother, but he's fourteen, so Kai is basically an only child and struggles with sharing. Anyway, back to the restaurant. We had a 6:00 reservation and were finally seated about 6:45. Kaiden was so excited.
The chef came out after we placed our orders and started the show right away. He made the usual onion volcano which is Kaiden's favorite. When the chef lit the volcano Kaiden lit up. He was so happy and smiling and laughing for almost the entire time the chef was cooking. I don't know if I have ever seen him laugh so hard for such a long time. I love seeing him be so excited and happy. Kids at his age, 4, are seeing so many new and exciting things. We should all see the world with such newness and excitement. It was a great night of food and fun shared with 3/4 of my family.
